Anyone resolved controller issues?

I played this game with local coop for awhile with no problem, but then out of nowhere, the controller stopped working with the game (works with all other games no problem). I've not had much luck finding any solutions on my own, so I thought I'd see if anyone here might have found any.

I'm using a wireless 360 controller mainly, but I don't think a Dualshock 3 would make any difference.

Is the splitscreen fun? Do they have a splitscreen campaign?
