Too short.
Sooo. I started enjoying it, got a fleet of 5 ships and some upgrades. Then boom randomly game over? It lasted less than 20 minutes...

You do have a terminal illness in-game, don't you? Does that factor into it somehow?

Yeah... But i want an endless kinda sandbox mode where i can fly around and fight forever. Or at least an option for longer games.

That's true. I find myself gtravitating towards 6v6v6v6 Battlestar skirmishes. SO. MUCH. MAYHEM!

I agree with the want for a kind of "endless mode" but it's still a fun ♥♥♥ game.

Each playthrough is supposed to be its own epic short story. Once you've died in blazing glory, you play again and try to beat your highscore. If the game were longer or endless, there'd be no leaderboards or highscore chasing and you'd lose that sense of playing through a short sci-fi novel. Know what I mean?

Yeah... But this time it is really TOO short. It is more like coffeebreak rogue-like games. However, the game style does not allow it to be so short. It encourages you to gather fleet, buy and sell upgrades, to keep your ships in good shape. But after another pretty long combat you can realize that the game was too short in it's Galaxy mode (comparing to speed of each individual combat).

I have long felt the time given is also a bit on the "too-short" side. (I've owned this game almost since it was released). That said, you learn to really enjoy your Battleship if you get one.
