any way to use the controller in single player?
The mouse + keyboard controls aren't terrible or anything, but looking at the controller layout in the options, I think I would prefer it, especially when it comes to manual control. However, I can't find anything in the options to do this, and switching the 1st/2nd player values in the settings file didn't work either. Anybody have any ideas?

I know Flotilla is on the Xbox so you maybe able to use a 360 controller.

That's the one I have, and it's detected, but it seems to only allow you to use it for the second player. I'm hoping there's a way I can use it in single-player mode.

That's strange. You think it would work for both players if there were going to bother implementing it in the first place.

Yeah, exactly. I sent an email to the developer since their message boards were no longer online, but I have no idea how busy he is or if he has time to respond, especially since he's probably getting a greater volume of emails since his games went on sale on the Humble Bundle site. If I hear back from him, I'll post it here, but in the meantime I'm hoping someone who knows might be able to help me out!

So I got a response from the developer, and unfortunately the only way to use a controller is in split-screen 2-player co-op. He said that the way the game was coded (it was his first game) made it so mouse+keys was required for Player 1. Disappointing, but he said gamepad support was a priority for all future titles, so he's definitely listening!

It's great they responded so quickly. That alone makes me want to support the games. If you also own a 360 and enjoy the game it can be purchased for a very fair price.

Yeah, it'd be nice if they patched this in. But, it hasn't happened and I don't think it will.

Lame! Only reason I bought it was because I could play on controller.

Seems if you can play it on xbox then the code already exists for all-controller support, no?
Please patch!

Well they are two completely separate versions. The PC version could have been first.

I love this game. But, the KB+Mouse controlls actually hurt it. The default setup is unintuitive, to say the least, though the customization options help a bit.

I feel like this could use standard FPS controlls to pick my next move, but the lack of analog from a twin-stick controller makes it more complicated to try to put my ship in the position it needs to be in.

It's more like a simultaneous-turned version of Descent (the 90's game, the first truly 3d shooter) than XCom, a gamepad would work much better than KB+M.

If the dev is open to the idea, maybe the mod community can help fix this?
