AI?

I got this game on Xbox 360, and loved it. My only issue was that it didn't take long before the game stopped being a challenge. Im not normally that great at strategy either. The enemy AI just always did the same exact things, so I could always counter. Does the PC version have the same problem? I still like the game. Im just wondering if its worth getting the PC version or if I should just stick with the Xbox version.
