What is with the bots?

When I play left 4 dead or the second, I usually play alone due to being offline at times and the bots just urk me for being to stupid. Also, why can't the game continue if you die? I've seen bots (via console on versus) actually get to the end of stages (if unlucky).

If you want better bots, just install mod from workshop. Bots are stupid.

Thats impossible even on single player. Also you forgot the "why can't I continue without the bots without a cheat and even then they are functional"

Use the better bot mods from the workshop or elsewhere, like on gamemaps, although if you really feel like it, you can also make your own custom config to make the bots respond and play better. It's not really a cheat, it's just DIY improvement.

I'd like to note that this was made in december and I didn't pay attention to those types of mods. Thank you for the help however.
