Help with directory structure for the DLC.
So can anyone tell me what the directory structure needs to be when creating addons/mods for the DLC?
Example:
I've created some replacement sounds I want to use in the official ported versions of the L4D1 campaigns.
So how do I go about [if it's possible], creating the directory structure in my VPK so that the sounds I want to replace in those campaigns will play?

The files I want to replace are located in the left 4 dead 2\left4dead2_dlc2 and left 4 dead 2\left4dead2_dlc3 directory.

Thanks in advance for any info!

The game doesn't differentiate between the directories. All the sound files are considered by it to be under \sound\, so files placed there in the addon directory structure will override sound files in any of the dlc directories.

I thought this too but for example, the death music in L4D2 is named differently than in L4D1.
Although the directory structure in the dlc folder is the same for the ported campaigns, changing one does not affect the other.
If you follow me?

Thanks for the reply.

Doesn't overriding the L4D1 version of the music work then? Like naming the death music sound\music\undeath\death_l4d1.wav?

You know what?
I've not actually tried that haha
I'll give it a go when I get home from work.
Makes sense really.
Thought it would be something simple.
