Editing the Hoard Incoming Sound file
UPDATE:

I think I've found out the way it's done. It's as simple as replacing whatever sound file you want to mod, and then renaming the replacement file with the same name as the original.

Simple enough. Although...which sound file is the incoming hoard one? I'm going through my L4D folder...can't seem to find the bally thing.

-------------------
After much hesitation and alot of begging from my girlfriend I finally gave in and bought Left 4 Dead 2. To my suprise, it was far more fun than I ever thought it would be. Not soon after, I descided to delve into the mods for this game in the workshop. My team now consists of Deadpool, Master Cheif, Alice from Alice: Madness Returns, and the Scout from TF2. I have plenty more mods installed that have made the game even more fun.

Being the noob at this I still am, I've just been playing Singleplayer to get used to the feel of the game.

Anyway, of all the sound mods I've seen there's one I really want, but the problem is that is doesn't exist. (Yet) Or maybe it does, but I just haven't been able to find it.

What I want is to edit the sound that occurs when a new hoard approches. Right now I have a mod that replaces that sound with the line "*bong!* Bring out your dead!" from Monty Python anf the Holy Grail. It's hillarious. BUT, what I think would be really neat is if instead (being the pro-wrestling fan that I am, and yes I do know it's fake.) I would hear Paul Bearer's

"OH YEEEEEEESSS!!!"

play when the hoard comes.

I know exactly where I can get that sound, problem is I dont know how to mod it in myself. So rather than ask for someone else to mod it in, I'd like to learn how to do it myself.

So that's my question. Can any of you provide me with a simple set of instrustions on how to do that? I can learn, I just need to be told how.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I believe the sound you're looking for is in left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\sound\npc\mega_mob , titled mega_mob_incoming.wav.

Just remember, whatever sound you want to replace that with has to be the same sound format, frequency, length, all that jazz, as the original, or it will not play properly in-game.
Thanks a million. That's a big help!
