Installing mods via Internet?
I found a mod I would like for my game on a website. I downloaded it, but installing it clearly isn't as simple as just clicking a button here on Steam. So how do I go about installing this mod? I have winrar so I think that's a step in the right direction, but i'm not sure what else I need to do. Please help.

It's very simple, if you know how navigate file paths. If you want to skip ahead a few steps, go to your Steam Library, right-click Left 4 Dead 2, go to Properties, select the Local Files tab, and click "browse local files".
This should send you to a folder either called "left 4 dead 2" or "left4dead2" If it sends you to left 4 dead 2, then go to the left4dead2 folder, then there is a folder called addons. Download the files you want, and make sure the files you get have a .vpk suffix. Copy/paste those .vpk files into your addons folder.
Bang, you're done. The addon should load the next time you open your game and will be added to your addon list and activated automatically.

As a final note, do not upload any files you downloaded manually to the Workshop without first asking their original authors. It saves all of us a lot of trouble.
