Packed sounds wont loop properly
I generate sound.cache for a mod that changes the tank music (tank.wav/taank.wav) pack it in a vpk and I can hear it ingame just fine but it cuts the loop prematurely?
Is there a fix for this?

I've had that problem recently. I could find no fix, so I replaced the Tank music in the sound directory and rebuilt the audio cache. There's a slight delay in the music starting, I don't know whats causing that, but otherwise it seems to function properly and go the full length.

Thats what ive been doing, but when posting music mods on workshop its kinda a pain having to tell people to jump through hoops because sound caches in vpks dont work. :|

Yeah, I know, but the consensus is it's a limitation of the game, and it looks Like Valve won't be changing/fixing it any time soon.

From what ive heard, It works just fine in TF2 though...

TF2 uses some kind of different system which generates a sound cache for every addon mounted. (I think.) Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't do that. The feature either didn't/doesn't exist or Valve broke it in an update.
