My custom weapon skins are shiny. Why?
So I'm trying to make a custom machete for someone, and every time i recolor something it ends up being extremely shiny. Chrome-like even. Does anyone know what causes this?

The shiny specular reflections are controlled by a mask. If you are just rexteturing the default model of the machete, the mask is in the alpha layer of the texture, so make sure to copy over the alpha layer to your new texture.
