Swapping melee weapon models from TF2
I am trying to replace the Katana with an existing TF2 melee weapon and I have looked online and most tutorials cover other games or just custom weapons in general. I have gotten as far as MDLDecompiler and it crashes on me when I try to run it and everyone else that I have seen is having a similar issue with no working solutions present. Can someone run down the steps needed to swap a weapon model from another source game (TF2) in L4d2?

I'm not great with MDLDecompiler, but have you tried editing the IDST value?
Have you tried other decompilers, like StudioCompiler or Crowbar?

The first thing I did was edit the mdl file I was decompiling with note++ with different symbols because nobody could figure out what your supposed to put there. I'm gonna try crowbar and see how that goes for now.
