I'm still very much the newbie and am going through the tutorial that comes with Hammer.
I'm clueless as to what a nav mesh is, but in the documentation, it reads, "add a player start entity to test the map out. this will be where the player will spawn in a simple level".
it then tells me to select the entity tool. then to pick "info_player_start_ from teh objects drop down. finally to left-click on the floor to place the player_start.
it's then that I run the compiler. and I get the result I stated above.
As far as marking an area with PLAYER_SPAWN, I'm clueless as to how that is done.
there was something obviously wrong with the level, but I'm still too much of a newb to know exactly what it was.
thanks for the help anyway.
Cheers
