Need Help Regarding Connecting to Servers!
I went out and made a dedicated Left 4 Dead 2 Server for my friends and me to play on without having to worry about bad server lag and other articles of miscellania. I have most everything worked out but the problem is I cannot seem to connect to my own server. I am using basic console commands that being "connect <ip>" but I cannot connect to my own server. Also it is not just my server but any srever for that matter. I have tried several servers but I cannot connect to any of them. I have already tried verifying the integrity of the game cahce by the way. Any help would be much appreciated.

connect IP:PORT

Is this a hosted DS or a listen server?

IP = the IP address of the server. Port = the port the server accepts connections on

Hosted Dedicated is a server hosted with a company such as GameServers[www.gameservers.com] or a dedicated machine (other than the machine you play on)

A Listen Server is a server hosted on the same machine that you play on.

In order to connect to any server, one must use the console command:
connect 64.79.106.140:27017
or "connect IP:PORT" Note: the above IP is my L4D2 server IP for example purposes.

If you are hosting a Listen Server, verify the ports are open[www.canyouseeme.org]

See My L4D2 DS Guide for details on general server setup, as for Listen Server I can't help you much with that.
