Can you match make between left 4 dead 1 and 2?

Hey guys, couldn't find answer anywhere on this.

Basically I have left 4 dead 2, including all the left 4 dead 1 stuff.

My mate has Left 4 dead 1.

Is it possible for us to play through the left 4 dead 1 stuff together somehow?

Damn. I read an article at the time of the l4d2 announcement that, because there was such an outrage at how quick 2 came out after 1 that they would make the games compatible as to not invalidate l4d1, and keep ot alive alongside l4d2. With l4d2 now having all of l4d1 included, I thought this may finally have happened if not before.
