inactive bot?!
I play on my own a lot since I'm waiting for friends to join AND I'll admit I'm not that good and I keep bumping into bad players online.
Lately, ONE bot seem to go totally inactive, just stands there and watch while the other two bots are incapacitated and I'm grabbed by jockey/smoker/hunter. It's happened about five times now, usually Louis and Rochelle that gots inactive. Anyone suffering the same thing?

I can't stand the bots in general. They're good at getting quick kills for ♥♥♥♥ you can't even see, BUT, they love watching you die.

Had a game a few days ago, we were two players and two bots. I got huntarded and the other guy got smoked. And the bots were just standing there shooting trash zombies, walking back and forward, even though they were right next to the guy being smoked, they could literally just reached out their hand and given a shove. But no, they keep focusing on the trash zombies until I died and and when the trash were all dead they just stood there....looking at the guy until he had 1 health left and THEN they killed smoker.

I hate bots =p

I know the feeling...
But this is what I mean, I've had L4D2 for a while now and it's only this week that there's been bots that freeze up or just decide to shoot normal infected instead of helping incaps

If you play local single player mode, I recommend getting the workshop add - on Improved bots ( Simple ). Trust me. I have tried that add - on. Really well done set - up.

Really?!?! I have not used the advanced version, since the description says you can command the bots within menus. I found it too complicated to try out for my tastes. However. I can tell you from experience the simple version works well. At least for me anyways. I did Expert runs with that add - on & Improved Bots ( simple ) was overpowering that's for damn sure. With the bots rushing with me, my average time on Expert campaigns cleared was 20 - 25 minutes.

Ive never used the commands until this addon campaign so maybe it was just that campaign? I tried to make them stay in one place while i waded through water to pull a switch that released a tank where they were (if we all waded through water, the tank would have been a right sob to kill with these walls that came down to section us off too)

I'll try it now maybe, I'm playing the Disney campaign right now <3

I know what you mean and if there's something that could be improved/tweaked (in my opinion) in a next installment (L4D3?) it is the bots A.I., specially their reflexes when team-mates are being mauled to death.

I recommend you do not rely on bots and kick them.

All the AI are the same for survivors. In other words, all bots suck.

Bots aren't much of bad, sometimes the situation you get stuck in cause's some bugs into them, hence their unability to help. When you host, you can see in the console that if you get incap at a certain spot that's unreachable normally. It'll display, can't reach "your name" with a ton of location information. For all you must know, bots are just like players. Cover them as much they cover you, if one get boomed don't expect him to keep up. You have to cover him just like he could be a regular player.

I agree with you, I actually prefer to play with bots than strangers but it is frustrating when there's nothing visually wrong and they just decide to go kaputz. The places that this happened were normal enroute places. Once was on the roof near the mounted gun in Mercy Hospital and the two I could blame on the add-on map was a room in Questionable Ethics and .... some map based on China. The rest were really plain places you usually have to go through anyway...

Hey, this happened today on No Mercy (Advanced campaign, offserver).
3 players, 1 bot. Wouldn't go into an elevator after the event (semi-final stage). We had to kill Bill to continue.
