L4D2 Crashes Now

Just wondering if anybody else out there can't play L4D2 now that they updated the game and authoring tools. I get the appcrash error now every time I try to launch it.

Mine updated today, I verfied files and it just crashes on startup now, it's probably something to do with Valve forcing Steam Pipeline down everyone's throat and incorporating it into everything they have now. This would be 6th Valve game I own that's stopped working this past month because they are "fixing/improving" them.

Well it looks like a restart of Steam fixed it, don't know what it was with the update but I needed to restart Steam for some reason and now all is well.

I've crashed twice, in the past two days. In the middle of gameplay...

Yeah I don't know what it is, Valve seems to be ruining all their games as of lately, none of my Gold Source games work right anymore since they did those updates to put Pipeline into play, now L4D2 is getting trashed, L4D I don't even have installed anymore but I'm sure if I did it would have issues as well, it's shame to see Valve become the monster it is now.

Every time I start it up it rashes. But what I do is I press the power button, wait for it to shut down and then turn it back on and it works.

Like I said before all I had to do was restart Steam and it all worked fine.

You think you have problems? I downloaded installed all oy my addons to my server launched it found it listed on the group community server list joined it and played it. no problems. left the game and left my stand alone dedicated server up with 3 players playing. came back a hour later launched L4d2 game to play and i can't even find 1 group server in any game mode listed. all i get is no group servers listed. so once again in the middle of the day 212:99 pst the group server are gone. I did the verrify thing nothing listed. right now i'm downloading a freash L4D2 install.that at 500k a sec will take a long time and i have a 33mbs cable for the internet only.
If Steam is gonna tinker with the games they shpould provide a fast way to reinstall the game. whats worse is my dedicated l3d2 server is up now with players and i don't know how to join my own game. that SUCK'S....

Well it seems like people are being affected by Valve's stupidity in different ways, like all my gold source games only let me see the top left quarter of the screen, my friend only has a black border around the whole thing but it doesn't affect gameplay, some people can't even launch any of their gold source games, I'm at the point where I'm really losing faith in Valve, it's just not the company it used to be, they don't care about their customers or standing by their products anymore. In your case it sounds like you're just gonna be stuck waiting till Valve gives a damn, which could will most likely be a while as they messed up the gold source games back in February and have yet to even say if they plan on fixing them. Some people get lucky and a verify and restart work some people it doesn't work, it almost seems like these recent issues have a different remedy for each user.

restarted steam and still does not work. How do you uninstall game?

Right click on it in your library and click delete local content lol

All attempts at updates/reinstalls etc. are failing for me now too. I have been a PC/IT professional since the first IBM and Windows 1 (I know DOS for gosh sakes!) but nothing I tried will get L4D2 working again. Right now I can't even re-install it.

But It is possible it lies within valve?

Yes the issues all started for pretty much every Valve game when Valve came up with their greatest monstosity ever none other than Pipeline. And the fact it's being forced down everyone's throats doesn't make it any better, it has been the root of many issues for Valve games though, the only thing they seem to keep working is TF2 and I don't know why considering it's F2P now they're only gonna make money off of people who buy from the TF2 store which I think it's safe to assume there aren't many morons who pay $13 for a hat.
