Horde Bug in L4D2
I've only witnessed this in the old levels (you know, with the original survivors), but sometimes the script will bug out and we'll have to fight our way through horde after horde just to get to the safe room. It is insanely difficult and unnecessary. Has anyone else had this issue or fixed it? Or am I unaware of a script fix?

Yeah, never seen such a thing. You sure you're not playing on a modded server? (Or just thinking about non-ending events? Some are like that by design.)

The current update DID change how all the infected spawn.

The Beta update has messed up a few things, but many of the holdout/accident crescendos in the ported Left 4 Dead campaigns have been turned into gauntlet events. (I haven't forgiven them for that, f*** that metal detector.) That may be the cause of your problems, new evil Director aside.

I have been playing for years and know when there are supposed to be hordes or not. I only play on official dedicated and have been recently playing much more since my girlfriend bought the game during the summer sale. I have noticed this happening usually on the third chapter of levels. I honestly don't think this is something that was just added in. Hordes just keep coming at scripted events when there are only supposed to be two or three hordes, such as exploding the bridge in Blood Harvest or running through the metal detector in Dead Air.

Gotchya. That makes sense. It just feels... wrong... that I can't enjoy the old levels properly with someone who's just started playing.

It's not too bad. Just need to adapt & change play style to how the horde events work now. To tell you the truth Edward, myself & friends enjoyed the change. It feels great being able to overcome the challenge.

Oh, Of course! I think I actually enjoy the extra challenge, although it is annoyingly tough when you've only got two bots and a new player with you!
