Left 4 Dead 2 running poorly on PC

I was playing it before and easily getting good framerates. I tried playing yesterday and I was getting about 18 FPS and my gpu load was 99%. What could be the issue?

I don't know whts happening, but you can fix this by opening task manager, and doing wo things
1: right click the program after it's running, and select create dump file
2: click the program again, select go to process, right click process and select set priority, select the priority as high
this should increase the framerate dramatically

p.s. only works on computers running windows, I don't have experience with macs

What about the Gpu load? I was playing fine before. I don't know what happened. I was using like 21% Gpu before on Max settings

The dump file should have taken care of that, it creates a file that takes the temporary files instead of the RAM dealing with it, but I don't know how to further fix the GPU load, sorry

Try setting your environment settings 1 notch lower and then tell me what your FPS is.

I had everything on low and I was still maxing out my GPU and my framerates were still around 18.
