Cursor now gone
Yesterday my cursor disappeared on l4d2 playing on my Mac 10.6.8. Can't even see it at the initial menu. I can blindly click around, but that's frustrating and still doesn't always work.

I've been playing for over a year and haven't had this happen before. I re-installed the game, but the problem persists. Don't have this problem on any other Mac program either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What I have to do to bring the cursor back is move the "invisible" cursor to the top corner which I designated as a hotspot to bring up the dashboard. This is the only way I can bring the cursor back and have to keep repeating this when it disappears.

Sucks but that's how I've been dealing with it.

I have the same problem here, mac also. I think that is something related to the last upgrade, i hope someone on valve fix it.

Not a Mac user, but if you're still able to play. Try using the keyboard to navigate through the menu, i'm not sure if that'll work with your OS tho.

It works for a lot of it, but not all. Thanks for the tip though.

Yes, I'm playing with the keyboard but in some menues doesn't help.

Yes, the keyboard is not really helpful, the "enter" button doesn't work as the mouse click.

This is my first post and needed to say something regarding this:

As a Mac user running Mountain Lion 10.8.4, I discovered this bug when they last updated Left 4 Dead 2 sometime earlier in July or late June of 2013 (can't remember when it was).

Cause of bug (for me): When I launch game and switch to a different application.
Result: Switching back to the game made my cursor disappear

Temporary "solution"/workaround: Never switch to another application when game is launched.

As soon as I switch to another application and then switch back to Left 4 Dead 2 my mouse cursor seems to disappear in the game.

However, if I launch the game and I don't switch to another application at all my mouse cursor seems to remain and act normally.

Hopefully this helps any other Mac users who are having this problem. I am quite certain it is related to the latest update to the game and most certainly can be fixed with another update that addresses this issue. It is quite annoying.

I think you're right about the update, but they have to fix this. Not being able to switch to another app while playing is something I cannot do.
