we have R rating yet both Saints Row 4 and i think the next Mortal kombat have been banned from entering australia......WTF

They were both "banned" because both were deemed too confronting in terms of violence, and in the case of SR4 inappropriate. This decision was made because of the "anal probe" weapon IIRC.

The R18+ rating for us still doesn't mean that EVERYTHING will get through. The board still seems to have an issue with the use of extreme violence, sexual acts (or rather their depiction contextually) and the use of real drugs.

We can only hope that the high violence version is patched in now, however it would cause a bit of a stir if Valve were to patch it in without resubmitting the game to the board, especially given the controversy cause when it was intially released.

We need to keep in mind that unfortunately, Australia is still a relatively small market when compared to the US or UK for any form of entertainment, so there is little incentive for Valve to re-submit Left 4 Dead 2 for reclassification, not to mention the cost of recalling any retail copies circulating and repackaging them ( or even changing the rating labels is still a fair effort).

Tl;DR: Australia is too small of a market and Valve has no reason business-wise to resubmit L4D2.

ps. ♥♥♥♥, I want this game uncensored.

It's an anal probe, AS A WEAPON. It's not used sexualy at all. I doubt anyone on the board has ever heard of saints row, let alone 'Fun'. this is what they were most likely thinking : "Hay look a game that people like, lets ban it for no reason."

It's most likely the depiction of the weapon in the game. There have been similar weapons in games before (See destroy all humans franchise) and they've gotten through fine. My guess is Saints Row has (in typical SR fashion) gone completely overboard and probably features the weapon being used in a sexual context.

Hopefully this clears up the misunderstanding
