SteamPipe conversion - how to tell?
http://store.steampowered.com/news/10941/

This says that L4D2 will be converted to SteamPipe when the game is launched next. I launched it today and didn't see any prompt to convert.

Did the conversion happen in the background? If so, how can I tell?

I do have an appmanifest_550.acf file in my steamapps folder. Is this what I'm looking for?

yes appmanifest_550.acf - you can open it with notepad - it's text file with control sums
left 4 dead 2.ncf left 4 dead 2 client.ncf left 4 dead 2 common.ncf - old files

I'm not quite sure why they posted that news piece because the conversion should happen instantly and silently for L4D2. There really was no need to publicise it.
