Rage QUIT out of CONTROL.
I rarely get a full game. Some sort of penalty should be the result of 3/5 or more rage quits or early quits/bad connections. "They" did it with HALO Reach on the BOX so why not on Steam ?.

You would be surprised to know how many times some type of "Penalty System" that would deal with those who leave the game/rage-quit was suggested before...

Unfortunetely the answer is that Valve probably thinks the game is fine as it stands. So don't do / update anything.

The game is fine. Make friends and play a real game with 8 peeps.
yes. because your friends will ALWAYS be online just waiting to play with you.

So you only have 7 friends? Once you have 100+ friends, it's never a problem.

I would rather a matchmaking system that filters people properly, would reduce the amount of rage quitting. The problem with l4d is that it requires a significant time investment per game compared to other fps games, and if you're not having fun, you shouldn't be forced to continue playing. Punishing negative behaviour is only a bandaid solution, you should always look to fix the root of the problem first.

Valve hasn't made a decent matchmaking system for L4D yet, and that's kind of sucky, but till then, play campaign, or get friends to play with you

People aren't raging today, they're being kicked out saying "Client timed out". A lot of people are having this problem.

That is valve devs old solution, and it hasnt worked - fact is for 3 yrs odd they have said that for part 2 and the majority of games end up with rage quitting followed by the msg server shutting down due to not enough players.

Solution: A penalty system such as was requested a million times in SPUF, heck CS:GO has a penalty system and it works.

having hundreds of friends is not a solution, and at the time (if you had 100+) they are not playing left for dead 2 anymore due to this same issue we are speaking of....

Everything he said. Getting punished for leaving the match wouldnt work because sometimes you just need to leave the game because you have something to do, need to piss, etc. etc.
l4d is even worse than CS:S in terms of community. Good luck

I've heard that Dota deal with it by don't letting ragequitters join other runnig games. I think this is a good option to reduce the amount of ragequitters. Than this problems annoys me more and more. Sometimes the whole teamlineup switches between 1 or 2 levels. And that can*t guarantee no serious teamplay at all.

It's alright to rage in L4D man. When i start raging, oh man.. Those zombies definitely feels the pain, and start running away in fear!

Wrong, it is implemented in Dota 2 and in CS:GO and it works in both (there was initial crying and tears) then ppl had to man up and or gtfo, simple enough and it works - the whining has stopped in their forums about it and now ppl compete more for their time in an online game.

It is a 2 way street you cant just rage quit and ruin other ppls experience in a game and expect nothing happens to you while the team you were on or the game in l4d2's case gets "server shutting down due to not enough players" and you go off to another game stuff up and rage quit all over again.
