considering the immidiate and common problem, it looks like it's a Steam thing and not us. I'm not going to even try again until I see what pops up in the forum.

hmm... i suggest connecting with steam support, making a call (if possible) is probably your best option.

i don't care enough to waste the time. My money is on STEAM being the culprit. Right or wrong, time will tell. If it doesn't sort itself out eventually I'll have to do something but until then, I can wait.

this will let you connect, i did some looking through the support section, but i didnt come up with anything useful.

i always contact them through the ticket thingy and they never responded. i had an issue with l4d2 saying it lagged alot it wasnt even funny but i fixed it myself. waiting 2 months and nothing. then i had an issue with borderlands 2 . waited 1 month, no response. so why should i waste my time trying to do it again?

you an probably download the missing file online somewhere... thats all i can think of.

There are all kinds of threads popping up. This will end up getting attention - at least in theory it should. We'll see eh.

I honestly would suggest people hold off on deleting, downloading, reinstalling etc. There's no clean way of us doing process of elimination and you could be really wasting your time and energy. Plus, the generic info page mentions a cache folder as the most likely culprit - which for me it was not.

I have another installation on my Windows partition... I'm going to see what happens there.
