When I launch the game, I get "game is not available"

I've tried varifying the cashe, it still wont work. I have a 7.6MB update for l4d2 that for some reason stopped at 7.2MB. Everytime I try to resume it, it pauses itself. This is really starting to annoy me, any advice would be appreciated.

I just try and retry, usually after the 2nd or 3rd try it works. It is just dumb like that.
You may need to veryify integrity of files and retry.

Guys if this is happening that's because of the add-ons. What you do is go to library click on L4D2 then you'll see properties and press then "Verify Game Cache". it will fix it for you and you will have then no problem with starting up l4d2 :) but keep the add-ons from the workshop at a minimum just to be sure

lol i did try googling it, still nothin..but what i find is that i have to continuously verify the cashe, and also i deleted my 3 add-ons

I have six add-on campaigns from the workshop, and they are awesome because they are fun and were free. From time to time Steam or the authors of these add-ons update things and that's when it goes goofy. I usually try and start the game 4-5-6 times before it takes hold and I can play, its an exercise in patience. I have never had to delete add-on files.
