Somewhat new to game, looking for some tutoring.
Obviously I still have a lot to learn, I usually try to pay attention in game, but people tend to have short tempers, and who am I to blame, I have too when constantly insulted and thus flame a bit at times. Im open to a lot of learning as versus is tons of fun except for the toxic situations with other players.

Let me know if you feel like being friendly. Looking for some solid playtime anytime tomorrow well before 4pm EST or sometime this weekend (after 1145pm EST friday).

If you're new to the game, Versus is probably not the mode for you. I would recommend racking up the hours in campaigns, so that you know where to go, where everything spawns, and what to watch out for in the Specials. The players in campaigns are usually more helpful, less caustic, and there's less pressure to perform, unless you hop straight into the higher difficulties. I don't recommend that course of action at all.
Just remember, this game takes literal days of playing to master. Start off slow and be patient.

I could help you out with a few general campaign tips, but you'll have to find someone else to help with versus. I'm clueless there.

And see thats the thing that is so annoying, many new players want to play versus because you get access to the zombies, the lack of competition and fact that you only play survivors in the campaign is boring. This is a game after all and people want to play for fun. Its unfortunate versus has developed into a high level community that people feel need to "put in days of work" to access the most fun part of the game. I understand the frustration the "elite" have, but from the perspective of the fact that this is a game meant for fun that I, along with everyone else, paid for, its annoying that people are dissuaded form playing what they feel is fun, due to the fact that they are not good enough for access to that content.

Either way, ive been doing some reading, watching tutorials, might go play campaign, but the reality is Ill just deal with people raging at me when I screw up and continue playing versus, because it is more fun and I play video games for the fun and relaxing aspect of them.

I understand where you're coming from, but it is good to practice frist. I would be willing to go through some campaigns with you this weekend to help you get used to the maps and the games, if you'd like.

Try getting addons for L4D2 so if you get bored of the normal ones.

I understand the pain of Versus, that's why I don't play it often, and when I do it's with friends. That way I can derp all I want and nobody will try to kick me. If you really want to play Versus I'd be glad to derp around, I need more practice with aiming my pounces.

Well ill be derping around this weekend. I severely lack any skill with the tank, so any advice would be well taken.

I would petition Valve to find a solution instead of throwing everyone together. I'm sure many new people even avoid purchasing the game because of all the negative forum feedback from new players. A simple fix would be giving lobby leaders the option of a requirement/cap of hours logged into the game to filter joining players. Veterans could set a requirement of 100 hours minimum to join the lobby/server, or new players could set a cap of 100 max so they can learn with people of similar skill. "Hours" could even be replaced with "Versus Games Completed" if that was a better measuring tool. No Veteran wants to end up in a noob game, and no noob wants to end up in a Veteran game, but this is happening all the time and leaving both parties frustrated.

While they were at it, they could add an option of "Allow custom content/Disable custom content" to let lobby leaders decide when it's appropriate and when it isn't. A Versus lobby looking for a serious game, for example, probably would want custom content disabled so that a Stay Puft Marshmallow tank isn't giving somebody an unfair advantage because they can see it better through the trees. But a majority of the community would like to actually use Workshop content on Official servers instead of downloading something cool and never getting a chance to ever use it because 3rd party servers are whacked out on mods and rightfully avoided.

I could go on, like how maps such as No Mercy are missing key infected ladders/shortcuts which negatively impacts the Versus mode experience, but I'll save that for another day.

Everyone givs tips about versus (Wich I suck at) so I'm going to give you some other tips
1: Stay with your teammates
2: Standing still + crouching improves acccuracy ALOT, use it when shots that require precicision is the key
3: Tier 2 weapons > Tier 1 weapons
4: Melee weapons can (and will) save your life when out of ammo, but I usually go with the Magnum becuse... I personally like it? idunno
5: in Scavenge, you & your team must gather a select number of cans, strategize with your team what is best
6: When you're close to the end of the campaign, RUN!
7: CI can be deadlier than you'd think, they are faster than you & they will slow you down alot if they catch up to you (wich they will)
8: Mutations are great if you want to play the same game but different
