Today my chatwindow opened and someone wrote in it, I couldn't move. What happend?

I was playing Versus on an official dedicated server.
Towards the end of the round the daily message opened without me triggering it, I tried to close it but it kept opening. I was in spawn modus and couldn't move while this was happening. Then it stopped, my chat window opened and someone started writing "nd es ist auch verstaubt hier" the message was sent and appeared in the chat. After that the round ended and I could move again.
Anyone any idea what happend?
Paranormal activity on Valve servers? :D

untick "Notify me about additions or changes to my games, new releases, and upcoming releases" in Steam > Settings > Interface

daily messages are dumb

I meant the ingame "Message of the Day" not the Steam Notifications about daily deals. Sorry.

You %100 sure it was official?

A client as lobby leader can easily havethe setting set for official and force a serverIP via cmd from the console, then if there is an admin on they can override your chat easily making it appear as you were typing it.

Well it's the last server that shows up in my history. I looked it up right after I disconnected. The player with whom I played were still there.

I've only played on official dedicated servers today. And there are only 3 showing up for this date. I'm sure it was this one though

Also, just as extra information "nd es ist auch verstaubt hier" is german and means "nd it's also dusty here" with "and" not fully written. It doesn't make sense to write this through someone else chat. Looks like an accident to me.
