Can't play l4d2

when i start the game, it shows the cinematic ok, but when the menu appears, the game crash and close, it started after the workshop update

i've already done the integrity checking and reinstaled, nothing worked =/

Put -novid in the launch options.
Go to steam> games library> right click on left 4 dead 2>properties> set launch options.

i had the same thing after i installed the back to school add-on. is there a way to remove it and try loading it again?

Go to your addons folder and remove the addon you can find it in.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\addons

DON'T DOWNLOAD MAPS FORM WORKSHOP
It is an common problem ajust download them off

I have had the same issue. The fix i found was to go to Steam Workshop and in your account on the right side, open that the click on Unsubscribe and restart Steam

i cannot even get to the menu...i just installed the game but it crashes right after the cinematic...whats the problem any help would be nice

for my problem i've solved unsubscribing every addon i've installed, idk why they're doing conflict with l4d2 or steam but worked

Mine doesn't even get to the cinematic. It freezes right after the game loads.
