New UPDATE has severely broken the game on my 2011 Mac Mini

I just updated L4D2 to finally enjoy some mods and add ons. I never installed any in the past to avoid screwing up my computer and go figure, I update the game to enjoy a streamlined way to enjoy mods safely and now the game crashes to the desktop CONSTANTLY with no warning or reason. I'm running 10.8.4 on a 2.5ghz i5 8gb Mac mini. Never had an issue with this game before. Any news would be much appreciated VALVE.
