Left 4 Dead 2
How effective is Steams block communications feature?
I've encountered a few griefers in my journey through Left 4 Dead 2 and I can say that I have about 25 people on my block list (Griefers). How effective is this feature? Will it reduce the chance of ever being in the same game as that person? Thanks in advance for answering.

I blocked a bunch of people too, they were egostic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It was just another day playing L4D2 VS, until 2 guys that I blocked joined me. (WTF? I already blocked them!)

Its possible that blocked players can join you if you lose connection to Steam. My experience with it so far.

That's a damn shame, Valve should think about reevaluating their block feature.
block teh dude, you will nevah find him in game, and i do think he cant post messages on ur steam profile.
I have quite the blocklist of regular expert team kilers, and I have yet to bump into any of them ever again on expert and we rarely get teamkillers now. Blocked them all and haven't seen them again though. If steam community goes down, the blocklist can be avoided, but it's unlikely as games become unlisted when that happens.

Its extremely ineffective from the few times Ive tried to use it. Often Ill local host a campaign so I can kill off the bots and just do 2 player runs with the gf. Some idiot friend of hers couldnt understand that trying to join a game with kicked bots causes it to crash. Even after blocking him and having it friends only he still joined time and time again.

Yet back when I played this game mostly to grief because Im an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Id be blocked from a good 2/5ths of the versus games I tried to join. Gotta love steam.
