Two people from the same house playing a game together, issues??
My wife and I are trying to get into the same game but L4D2 isn't letting us. We are on our own accounts, our own player names, have each bought the game through Steam, on two different machines, sharing the network connection but neither one of us can load the gamem up if we are in the same lobby. If she is already in a game, I can join another game and we can both play seperatley, but we are trying to play in the same game. Any ideas why this might be? Thanks in advance for any help.

My wife and I had the same issue. I'm not sure how to resolve it but we tried switching who was hosting and that allowed us to play for a bit.

I need more details.
If you play local co-op, and not havng a modem, you must be part from the same group or connectng by IP.
Two users on the same steam account cant play the same game, in the same time.
If you send more information, heliping will be more precise

Its strange that you can join different games but not be in the same at the same time. If you weren't completely able to play at the same time I would have said it was the internet connection being shared. Need more information on the setup of you connection whether its cable or wireless and through a router. Thats the only thing I can think of that might have a problem as everything else is seperate.

I never test that possibility. I dont think that could be possible. Agreed with DEAN, a router its the best advice you can get.

Me and my son play much time the same game. And we play on the same desk with 2 computer
I'm plugged directly with ethernet cable and my son use their wi-fi connection on the same modem ...
One day we have made a four team game with my other 2 daughter with their laptop. With wi-fi connection.

So, from 1 house, 4 player, 4 different computer, 4 different account in the same game

I don't know if it was Left4Dead 2 or Counter Strike, but I had a female friend that played with her husband online games.

My son and I have separate steam accounts and each a copy of L4D2, yet we cannot play in the same lobby together -- we can play separately. We hardwire connect through the same router through 2 separate PCs. Why cant we play each other?

Fun thing about necro'ing posts from 2013 (TWO YEARS AGO), you can see who is still banned from the forums. Must have been very bad to get permabanned.
