can not add new campaigns

We did everything by the book, I downloaded the campaign, I saved it in steam/steammapps/common/l4d2/addons and when I want to install double-click campaign is not working, do not open with any program.Were is the problem, if anyone knows.Thanks

some campaigns dont install at all just broken but i have a feeling thats not whats going on?
away i do it is i take the .vpk addon and just put it right into the addon folder or double click it and it auto does that.

just extract the downloaded zip file and put the vpk file in the folder you mentioned -> done. No double clicking whatsoever required.

Take the .vpk and put it into the addons folder. Do NOT double click anything.

i guess no one has noticed that he has it in the wrong folder?, you said you have it under steam > steamapps > common > l4d2 > addons, when in reality it should go under steam > steamapps > common > left 4 dead 2 > left4dead2 > addons

Oh yea wrong file -_-.........also i double click the vpk and then its done so yea......
