Using Xbox 360 wired remote on Mac

I have successfully used the TattieBogle driver for the Xbox 360 wired remote in the past, but I recently removed it because it was interfering with the remote settings for Borderlands 2. So I deleted the app and it's associated files and have used the remote with no problems in Borderlands 2. Now that I want to play L4D2 again, the remote controller will not work at all. Before I started playing Borderlands 2 on my computer, I have never had any issues or problems with my controller when playing L4D2.

I read in another discussion that someone suggested to go into the options menu during game play and to disable and re-enable the gamepad option. I have tried this too and had no luck. Any other Mac users out there experience this problem?
