About kicking a player to invite a friend
I’ve seen it done several times and those people seem to think it’s perfectly fine ! But it’s very wrong. It’s the worst reason to kick someone and it is disrespectful.
Would you like to give your place to someone else ? Of course not because 1) you joined a public game (meaning open to all) and you did that before that friend, so you have more right to be there than him and as much right as other teammates and because 2) you enjoy the game and invested time trying to win the previous chapters/rounds.

If you want to play with your friends you should create a new lobby and make friend only then invite your friends so you can have a team made only of your friends.

A word on needing a kick feature. We don’t need one if AFK players are automatically kicked by the server and if we can make lobbies only accessible to players with N number of hours played.

P.S. I’m NOT following this discussion

Only thing wrong about it is when people don't say they are going to invite friend, but there is no problem when they politely ask you to leave, or at least give heads up on why they kick you. I have been on both ends of this vote kicks, you're just being butthurt.

Ask someone to leave, dont kick. You should be banned if you abuse the kick option.

That's hardly abuse, it's one of few legit reasons to kick someone, plus not everyone is willing to cooperate.

Also banned for that, u wot m8? You clearly haven't played enough l4d to realise what ♥♥♥♥ people get away with.

Exacly my friend, you nailed it. They dont do this because because they actually like to mock other players and ruin their fun, which is really low. That's why i dont play anymore; i advise you all to do the same and stop new players from buying the game

But he makes a bad point, and does not take into account factors that sometimes they couldn't get a friend so instead they temporarily allow pubs in until the friend is available.

And you are suggesting to not play this great game, while not realising that every single online game you choose is filled with same toxic players, only l4d series is more noticable due to lower amount of players in server. What you should be suggesting is playing with people you know.

Someones obviously not using there brain.
Ive played this alot on 360, happened on there. Steam HAS warned people before cause ive seen the emails to people from them. Steam needs better fairness. People get kicked for no reason alot, litterally, no reason. Personally i say they need to just remove KICK completely. Its hardly used for its intended purpose to kick ABUSIVE users.

Thats 360 no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about what happens there especially here. The communities are seperate and unless vac finds ♥♥♥♥ in your files or you get an ungodly amount of reports enough to wake gabe from one of his many daily food comas nothing happens at all. You're just another pissy noob that is bad, cant come to terms with the fact that you're bad, and think the game needs changed to suit your lack of skills.

The amount of pure trolling kicks have diminished to near nothing. If you're getting kicked now its because you're either afk or you just suck and one of their friends is probably on the way that could play better than you while blindfolded.

I get kicked from l4d2 all the time they either say i cheat or they kick me randomly because i say to kick the afk whos been afk for 4 hours. If you get kicked join another server simple .
It's not wrong. Random people you don't know are jacka--es 90% of the time. They either suck or they leave you to die. Won't help with the tank but just run into the safe room and let you bleed for 2 minutes. Stuff like that non-stop. I had to leave 5 public games in a row because of random idiots from this troll community who don't know that this is a 'CO-OP' game.
You're an idiot, and it seems no one here read the part where you're not following this. You're either trying to start a flame war, or you believe your opinion is fact (which is laughable).
Who would you prefer playing with; A friend on Skype or a random guy on the internet?
Stop feeding the troll who isn't even following this (or so he says). Just end this one now.
It's impossible to abuse the votekick.

You aren't entitled to play with a group of people just because you were in the game first. If they don't want you there, good bye. They don't even need a reason. Most fair thing in any video game I've ever seen.

So your saying you dont need a reason to kick someone? Its a public game - anyone is entitled to play and there should be a reason. Its like you sitting in a public toilet and someone barges in and kicks you out.

That's one of the stupidest analogies I've ever heard. But you didn't compare it to the Holocaust, so it could have been worse...

It's a lot more like, you are going to an event with open seating, and you want to find a good spot to see the event from. So you find a good spot, but there's only room for four people, and the three guys who are already there said "we're saving this for a friend". Sure, you could whine about how you got there before their friend and it's a public place... blah blah blah. But they would probably beat your ass, because there's no votekick in real life.
