Who want to help make an expert realism guide?

I've written a versus guide with stabs and was thinking of writing an expert realism guide.

The expert realism guide will cover everything from normal difficulty to expert realism.
Going to talk about weapons, strategy, easier maps to get the achievement on, witches, crescendos where the horde ends and those that don't, finales, etc.

Its not going to cover every map, unless you want it to.

You will need to have completed at least 10 expert realism maps to join in making the guide. It is best if you have tried speed running in expert realism before, because that is a topic I want to cover.
Also you can be the creator of the guide if you have more to contribute, its all for the community anyway.

Would like to finish the guide by this weekend.

Easiest campaign to get Expert Realism achievement is No Mercy. It's also easiest map to solo.

I have write-ups for every campaign's events and finale and for misc. info but I never felt like posting them. There's not much to teach in campaign/realism expert aside from how to use health items, what to do for finales and events, how to use throwables, how to deal with hordes and SI, and what weapon combos work best. It may sound like a bit much but it's really not.

Well its not really going to be a long guide. Unless we discuss a bit about each campaign. So do you want to write a guide? You can be the creator.

- Getting the tanks attention and then climbing on a long ladder can bug and trap him. The ladder has to be long enough for him not to be able to hit you, even when jumping (examples where this works: the two ladders in the sugar mill in Hard Rain, the ladder in one of the barns in Dark Carnival).
- The tank is just as fast as you and can't catch you if you never stop running. you can use this to lead him in circles around trees or walls while your teammates shoot him.

- Don't try to help downed teammates while the tank is chasing you (unless he's really far away, inside or behind a building and can't interfere), chances are he'll interrupt you helping your teammate and then proceed to kill your teammate.
- If the tank is throwing rocks at you, don't hide behind your teammates.
- If your team doesn't have a Molotov, but you do have fire bullets, then use them wisely. Shoot the tank once (put him on fire) and only shoot him again if he stops burning.
- You can shoot thrown rocks mid-air, before they hit you. Make use of that especially when you're using a stationary minigun.


Boomerbiles:
- Save them for events or a finale, unless your teammates are in danger during a horde and you need it to help them.
- If one of your teammates is carrying a bile through the campaign to make sure you have one in the finale or at another special point of the campaign, don't pick it up and use it the first chance you get when he (accidently) drops it. (The Barns in Dark Carnival, Town Escape in Hard Rain, The Town in Death Toll or The Train Station in Blood Harvest are maps where having at least one bile makes the whole thing a lot easier.)
- Don't waste a bile on a tank. Taking aside the fact that you'll probably miss him anyway, the zombies do little damage to him, but a lot to you. You'll need the biles elsewhere more (exception: The Docks in The Sacrifice, the only map in the game where using a bile on the tank is actually a good idea).


Being down:
- Always pick up the Magnum if you can. You'll be helpless without it when you're down.
- A downed teammate can block/attract zombies and has more health than you to deal with them. Don't help your teammates up ''at any cost'' during a horde or an event, as long as they still have plenty of health left. They're more help on the ground than standing with low health. This especially applies if the teammate you're going to help would be black/white. This does not apply if the teammate doesn't have a Magnum.
- When helping a teammate up or defibbing him, keep in mind he'll need a second after being revived before he can do anything. Protect him during this time or he'll go down again instantly.
- Defibbing works faster then helping someone up, so if you have a defib unit with you, it might be better to just let someone die in some critical situations. A defibbed teammate will also have more health.


Witches:
- You can't crown them, no matter how hard you try.
- Don't try crowning them!
- You can trap a witch under a ladder and then let your teammates shoot her or let her burn to death (see: Tanks).
- Witches can't get through doors. If you start a witch, hide inside a room (or trap her under a ladder) and let someone else take care of her.
- If someone else starts a witch, but you stand in her way, she'll kill you instead.
- The witch will lose sight of you as soon as you enter a saferoom.


Items:
- Don't heal up unless you're black/white or you're too slow to keep up with your team and there are no pills nearby.
- Don't grab the only pills nearby if someone else needs them more.
- Adrenaline should stay with the teammate with the most health most of the time, so he can help the rest of the team up fast when they go down (exception: if someone is close to death or going down and adrenaline is the only way to help him).
- Make sure there's an even amount of Molotovs, grenades and biles in your team, if possible. You won't need four of each. (Always make sure you save one Molotov for a possible tank.)

I've already said everything the came into my mind.
And as far as witches go, I was talking about closed doors of course. I haven't seen a witch getting through a closed door in L4D2 yet, unless someone opens or breaks it for her (zombie or survivor). It was possible for her in L4D1, but not anymore. I do it all the time: throw a Molotov at her, hide in a small room, close the door, wait until she burns to death.

Nope it doesn't work. I just tried it, I think your small room is too far away that she can't reach it before she burns to death. Also she moves slower when burning.

Just to clarify, witches can break doors in campaign but not in realism. Will get to work on the guide today.
