Each server has a different connection. right now you can play a game with 5ms ping, and on another server 150ms. Those guy rush to create servers, blindly, unknowing the requirements for a server. My advice to you is play a game in a server, if you dont have lag, stack it. Check your frined connection too. If they having bad connection, tell them to close other internet connection such as torrents, messengers, internet browsers... For a good game, the only opened connection should be Steam and the game.

Mr. Spitter, its all about cpu freq, dimms and internal connection to the internet.

Agreed. Also, you should try lowering your in-game resolution settings and graphics. While resolution shouldn't be a factor, you should check the requirements needed to fully play the game.

Uhh it is spelt DIMM - as in an acronym.

And there is always more than those factors that tie in to what clients perceive as "lag".

Get the OP to help himself by researching these things rather than trying to spoon feed him, or better yet ask the OP what his specs are much simpler than trying too act like a know it all.

i thought the lagging was from having to many players at one time and there ping maybe.... if its from having too many messengers, and too many internet browseres, then thank you for telling me that important info, because sometimes when im in a server, theres always some lag, and its really annoying

I know you said no more comments, but make sure you're checking your ping. >100 and you should find another server. Also, just try turning off Anti-ali~~~~wateva and Post-proscessing effects. They really clog up a CPU. With those two things off I can run L4D on the highest quality but with them sends my laptop over the edge in to 5fps-ville. Good luck gaming and if you're still having trouble I can help you, just send me a request.
