Left 4 Dead 2
Community Is Trash
Originally played L4D on the 360 since release along with L4D2, bought L4D2 on the PC a few months ago. I'm not new to the L4D series and I passionately love these games. I'm not saying the community as a whole has gone to crap, but the large majority has.

I just wanted to vent my disappointment on how such a great community is now full of whiny ten year olds and jerks who kick just to kick you. Where's the fun? Where's the cooperation and team work between people anymore?

Versus has become a joke aswell. I don't care if your new, that doesn't bother me! New players to the game aren't ruining versus, what's ruining versus are these ignorant kids who think they're above playing with new people. And you know what, half the time they're the ones being huge idiots! It's just this continuous cycle of ignorance.

That's my rant. Reply, troll, I don't really care, it's just a damn shame really.

Edit:
You know what, screw the new guys to. Get the hell out of expert. L4D is getting put away for good.

Were do you live? I live in Germany and I rarely see people kicking each other. I am stuck in games in which I am forced to play with noobs.

Today I had a game in which I was stuck with too guys that simply didn't realize what to do. They thought this game was some kind of tower defense game, they just waited at the safe room and didn't leave it. They also didn't move after I explained them how to play.

All of the games since those weeks are like that, maybe 1 out of every 15 game I play is good, the rest just sucks.

Left4Dead 2 used to be a game were people kicked noobs, today there are only noobs.

I live in the US, but you can blame the L4D franchise going on sale for all the newbies.
ima not a noob, lets go kick some zombie butt
The game is just too old. I was there at the start of L4D1 and the community was just amazing. the standard of play was much higher too. L4D2 just didn't command the same respect from the gaming community, and it never really had the same level of community support. Sure, there were lots of people who played it, but they weren't as good as the L4D1 community. But as you rightly say, this has just got worse over time. I can clearly remember that after 10pm the really good players used to come online. Even random games, it was possible to get a good team about 50% of the time. Now it's almost impossible. Players haven't a clue. Not surprising, really, you have people playing expert with 10 hours of experience. They are so often selfish too. I have to say my fuse with these people is pretty short these days. Sorry noobs, but you steal my kit in the saferoom and I'm going to shoot you. And if you think it was unfair that I shot you, well, play another 200 hours then you might understand why I shot you.

LOL, I was playing at the start of L4D1 and the standard was incredibly poor, it makes the noobs of today look like pros compared to the players back then. But it didn't really matter because all of us were noobs at the start of L4D1, and the community was amazing because we were all noobs, just learning together.

Its not that the l4d community is inherently bad, its just that the game is so dependent on your teammates not screwing up that causes the problem of kicking. TF2 is a team game as well, but the team is much larger, one person screwing up is okay, and there's auto team balance. Also, they never write your win loss ratio, they only record your best individual performance.
If the community is so bad, you are a part of it, too. Make a difference or find another game.

And +1 to disspelling the myth that people were ever good at L4D. Because it's a zombie title, and zombies are cool for some stupid reason, you get people who have never played a shooter or a multiplayer title in their lives coming to play this game. And it has always been that way. L4D was so full of unskilled players(some with over 100 hours), it was the dominant reason I stopped playing it.

I am just tired of noobs, not just Left4Dead but also in other games. Do you know how many people I saw in Counter Strike that tried to throw the c4? Do you know how many people didn't bought ammo in cs 1.6 and rushed into the battlefield with empty weapons?

I am just tired of that crap, I just want to start a game and play it serious, I don't want to check 4 or 5 different servers to finally find a decent game.
I played a lot on 360 before PC. Today I got into 2 lobbies of selfish people, healing themselves with medkits when they were on green instead of healing people who had no health at all. And at the finale, instead of saving the medkits they just used them all.

At the end of it I was the only one with health as I had rationed my health kit (also because I only managed to get 3 through an entire campaign).
