I need some help, guys. L4D2 is glitching out big time.
Whenever I start the game it does all of the intro stuff and loads the menu just fine, but when I start a campaign it gets weird after the first couple seconds. The screen flashes black every couple seconds and the audio sounds like a broken record, repeating tiny bits of a sound clip over and over again. This is also happening in Portal 2 for me so if anyone knows how to fix this oyur help is greatly appreciated!

It worked fine on this computer up until now, and I've tried deleting the files and re-downloading so I'm not sure if the computer is the problem or if it's just a corrupted file...

Have you tried downloading a new driver for your graphics cards?

check integrity of your game cache under properties , local files .

or defragment the game cache .

I checked the integreity and i defraged the cache but it's still not working. I also found this file on my computer called left4dead2_crash_20121221152615_1.mdmp this appeared after the game got all weird. Would that have anything to do with the problem?

If it's happening to more games than only one, it sounds like something is dying on your PC.... probably the video card.

Weird, 'cause it's only those two games that have the problem. the problem with L4D2 started before the problem with portal 2, so...

Similar problem, just showed up in the last couple of months, worse with add-on levels, running a local-only (LAN) server with another co-op: video freezes, audio repeats the last 1/3 second over and over, usually recovers after 10 seconds (varies, sometimes drops client). Upgrading graphics driver didn't help; no audio driver update available; but I didn't change anything. It used to work, and now it doesn't, so I suspect I got a "free upgrade" in L4D2.
