Game being fixed?

I was going to play right now and it appeared a message saying that the game is not available. Does it happen to you too? I'd like to know if someone knows the reason of why this happens and to know if Valve is fixing or updating something or I just have my game broken and need to reinstall it. Thank you.

I'm not sure why it happens, but restart steam and the game should run fine. This has always fixed this problem for me.

Do you see the words:
NO CONNECTION
On the center of Steam Client on the very bottom? (where the DOWNLOADING text usually shows up.) If you do then that's likely why and you'll just have to wait unit that message goes away.

If not.... it could be anything. But I highly doubt that reinstalling will fix it. It's more likely a Steam thing, not the game.

Try restarting your PC, Try changing the download region for Steam Client.... Could try reinstalling Steam Client too, but I don't know if any of those things will actually work.

To reinsall Steam Client: delete everything in the Steam folder except the Steamapps folder and Steam.exe. Then double click on Steam.exe.

Actually, when I'm going to start it, the exact message says:

Steam - Error

This game is not available right now. Please try again later.


If this helps, I downloaded a plugin, and I though that would be the problem, but after uninstalling it and trying again, the same message appeared, so I though that wasn't the problem.

I'd like to know if there is a way to delete all what I have in l4d2 and install a 100% clean version, because just reinstalling gives the mods back.

I have been having some troubles to every time I luanch the game. It seems after the first loading screen it finshes then does like a CTRL W out of the game. With no error reports!

Delete all the mods in the addons folder. You can find it here:

Steam > steamapps > common > left 4 dead 2 > left4dead2 > addons
