Anyone know of any good gaming laptops?
Recently, lag has gotten very bad for me on my computer. I would start playing "No Mercy" running at around 30 FPS, but by the time I got to the finale, I would be running at 5. I am going to be getting a laptop soon, and I'm wondering if anybody knows of any good gaming laptops that are somewhat cheap and will hold a smooth FPS no matter how long I play.

I recommend getting a gaming notebook at "CyberPowerPc" or "Centauras Computers". CyberPower has some fairly decent gaming notebooks at a reasonable price while Centauras gaming notebooks can be customized so you can make it better but Centauras is alittle bit more expensive.

Are those companies or websites you are talking about?

I bought an Asus A55V laptop. It has an I5 cpu @ 2,5ghz, 6 gigs of ram, nvidia geforce gt 630m 2gb and a lot of cool features, wasnt expensive and I am able to play L4D2 maxed out with no problems at all. I have everything cranked up in video settings and it doesn't even run on full load, so it doesn't get that hot. You can also play most never games, but you will have to decrease the graphics settings a bit.
At least that is my experience with my laptop.
Are you looking fore something to play L4D2 on or any other games also?

I am looking for a laptop to play L4D2 on as well as other games. Some games, like TF2, I never really seem to have lag issues with after taking some precautions. Other games, like L4D2 and Minecraft, I still have to deal with lag after setting the graphics down, and even increasing the RAM alloted.

Today when I was playing the game, I was surprised that it was lagging a bit for no reason. I then realized that my charger wasn't plugged in, so it limited the max cpu load to just 20%. And even that was enough to run this game. I think any laptop with at least an i3 cpu, 4gigs of ram and gt 540m or 630m can run this game no problem.

A good gaming laptop all depends on the budget.
For 700 dollars or so you could get an MSI CX61. I currently have that model and it runs Source engine games beautifully. I can have it at all maximum settings, including anti-aliasing, and it still runs great.
If you're curious, here are the specs:
Intel i5 3210M 2.5 GHz
Nvidia GeForce 640M 2GB VRAM
6 GB DDR III RAM
500 GB HDD

My friend also tells me he's able to get good performance with a 500 dollar laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 3000, but I don't have the model off hand.
enZo's laptop sounds sufficient too. Provided you are not looking to play more recent games, I think a configuration such as his should be sufficient if it's cheaper.

My laptop is exactly the same as yours except the GPU, You have 640M and I have 630M.
I don't know about Intel HD Graphics 3000, but 4000 can run some games quite well and since Source Engine isn't really that demanding it could be enough.
I can test the game with the GPU off and run it with HD 4000, if the OP would like that.

So I wouldn't nessisarily need to spend a fortune to be able to get good fps on a laptop as long as I get a fairly good gaming one?

As long as your'e not going to be to play all the games maxed out, then yes, a fairly good laptop would do just fine.
In which country do you live and what is your budget?

Well, I live in the USA, and I don't want to spend much more money on my laptop than I would for a normal non-gaming laptop.

sure do you have like $1300 for a laptop?

Probably not... I'm looking for a decent gaming laptop thats reasonably priced, not a expensive gaming laptop that gives me 120 fps in the worst conditions.

It has a better CPU, GPU and more RAM than mine, and I can run L4D2 maxed out no problem and also play other games at decent graphics settings. So, imagine what you could do with that thing :D
