Sociopaths DOSing servers I connect to automatically
What's astounding to me is how long Valve and 3rd party servers have been vulnerable to these types of rudimentary attacks. It's certainly not hard for a professional admin to set up a firewall that will automatically block the source IPs when they recognize attacks happening.

Anyway these loser kids that think they're "hackers" like to pub stomp and troll versus. Before any kids think I "deserve" being harassed like this all I did was return their trolling with sarcasm and didn't give them an inch as far as trolling me went. They spray animated gay and trans-gender pornography on the walls and apparently think they deserve any respect at all.

They blatantly do this to people whenever they feel like it obviously; they are as open about it enough to have a group related to these attacks where you just have to "say you're sorry and they'll stop".

The one perpetrating the attacks I suspect is http://steamcommunity.com/id/howiplay/ (Da Corkster STEAM_0:0:24599375) as he somehow got my personal IP address and was showing it in game and trying to threaten me by mentioning my ISP with it.
His friend http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197960427938 (τaco gato STEAM_0:0:81105) and him administrate the group together http://steamcommunity.com/groups/saysorry

Evidently it's easy enough to automate the process by using something like gametracker.com to find what server a player is on currently or using the same mechanism that gametracker uses to scan servers for usernames. Within a few minutes of connecting to a server it'll get attacked, rendering the server unplayable. I know they can basically just look up my current name using my steam ID and then scan public servers; I'm hoping there's something that can be done by somebody.
They've been reported by multiple people, even with their conversation and threats to me screenshotted. I've opened a support ticket but no response and I guess no recourse for this illegal behaviour for whatever reason.

All public servers are scannable and you can find any player by using a player search like on gametracker.com or using the same method they use, unfortunately :/

Valve needs to step it up..and start getting MORE strict with bans..restrictions..etc.
The ddos sh** is getting WAY out of control. The method of doing it..is being spread from player to player..Im sure its as bad as 1 out of 4 people actively do this. Is there anyone reading this who could please explain what happens when "Report Violation" is used?
Because it seems this is the only way to let valve know of this.
BUT is anything being done?
What can be done?
How fast is it handled?
Is the person being reported being spectated by the "L4D2 Spectating People Who Get Reported Dept?"

Come on Mr Valve....Step it up!

if your bored and promise not to critisize this next paragraph...Continue
____________________________________________________________________

What I would do...Mr Valve..is appoint game admins.
Where they can be called in any game where this BS is taking place.
Limited admin of course...more like NARCS...where these people had a definet say in a ban or restriction. (My idea gets better)
These admins would have a little "red alarm" on the top of the steam client.
Now im in game.. servers getting DDOS..I hit the "Panic button/Call an admin"
Red alarm blinks..activates an alarm.
Admin gets summons to game no matter if hes hangin on YOUTUBE. or hit the "accept job" button....Come rolling in like the 5.0..investigate the players...couple interviews. "Seek and Destroy" DO this for a couple weeks.. extinct these server crashers for good. KILL their account on ALL GAMES.. then create a "Steam black list.....
and this steam black list would.....
OK ill shutup.
My point is....is that there is something that can be done..other than blocking these people and sending them off to another group of poeple. or writing a fix that would just get kicked down in a few days.

He didn't get banned he just changed his profile link. If you use http://steamidfinder.com/ and paste the IDs that I posted above in there you'll find their current names and profile links.

This thread seems to have gotten them a bit worried since he changed his name and link, and both of them left the steam group but put a message about me first as if I'm the culprit, too bad Valve can see when you created the group and who you've invited to it, geniuses XD.

Here's his current one if anyone's interested and too lazy :P

Taco Gato changed his link to http://steamcommunity.com/id/tacodos I guess it's cool for him to put DOS in his name; way to show everyone you do it, bro!

Earlier this morning one of them was using an alt account deuceduzit ( http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197971109719/ STEAM_0:1:5421995) and joined my game. Here's the threats that ensued. Guess they don't like being exposed for their illegal behaviour:

Nice, they're trying to scare me with my "dox" or some lame haxor kid garbage. After he left the server was DOSed >_>

Anyway I suggest everyone that has a problem with this kind of behaviour block these accounts, make sure to report them for misconduct and let's keep track of them here. I noticed in another thread somebody mentioning these trolls DOSing his games as well: http://forums.steamgames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=33498180 post 319

Google website snapshot is cool: http://i.imgur.com/LgU2b.jpg

Cory, seriously dude get help for your condition. You can't troll people and act like a degenerate then get mad enough to commit illegal acts just because you can't handle sarcasm or losing. If you actually think you don't deserve being called out for this crap, you have a really skewed perspective on justice.

You wanna know the saddest part? Valve probably wont do diddly squat against these people, but the second you post some hackers steam ID or name on the forums, they get all up your ass with warnings and forum bans.

Valve has been protecting hackers for years, I suspect half of them are Valve employees

DOS attack been happening since left for dead 1. It really sad since the community already made a plugin that stop this kind of attacks. It not even a DDOS but just one player spamming the server. Also DOS are way more common than aimbotter or speedhacker. I seen maybe just four aimbotters but I lost count of the number of DOS after my 13th one.

Well if these guys are alowed to exploit and bomb left 4 dead 2 servers, i want to learn how to do it too!.
Your right, they dont give 2 ♥♥♥♥♥ about nothing but their own pockets and egos.
One mention of gabe running to the thread for donuts and it was deleted :X.

I'm not sure as I got no PM about why it was deleted, but this thread isn't about Valve or Gabe it's about a problem with DOS attacks and those perpetrating them. Let's keep the blame game out of this one, k?
peon 4 grudnia 2012 o 7:37
I figured maybe i would just troll "eensy tiny bit" besides we both know they deleted it because of links to steamids and ips :P.
I want to hear a developers opinion on this, not some dull mod.

Yeah i deleted and blocked sine,
hes kinda of a know it all jerk, i can see why they are screwing with him.

Me, i try to keep a open mind about things. I know its not my way or the highway. I can compromise, and rationalize, and admit im wrong.

Sine your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dumb, valve doesnt give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about us, and to sit there and say oh you dont know nothing, thats pretty ignorant.

Come on you valve employees, come look at my jacked up profile because of your stupid left 4 dead 2 blocks.
I have over 500 people blocked, and it will keep going. At this point I dont think I really care. Thats what happens when someone ruins the game so much for you, you just dont care anymore!

I vow that if the stars align, i find the right team and pump out a fun competitve game. I will not let it fall victim to obvious bchanners and tards. I will have a ban system like cs go that bans people with increasing penaltys for leaving and griefing and exploiting.

Ive pumped thousands and thousands of dollars into my steam account (over the last 9 years, Its like a disease ). And honestly I used to be scared of posting in these discussion gamehubs because i can see some dimwitted valve employee or mod banning my steam account because they werent happy with what it said, not that it broke any rules or anything. And that is my experience over the last 13 years ive wasted my life playing valves products.

I hope people start to realize how evil and money driven valve is becoming. They are no different from the big corporations that are sucking every penny they can from us. There used to be a time they somewhat cared what their players thought, but that day passed about 5 years ago.
Ban my steam account, make me lose the thousands and thousands of dollars because im expressing a deep and legit concern and ♥♥♥♥♥.
Thats how valve rolls these days.

And when valve notices they will delete this thread too, because its also got links to steamids in it.
sinephase 4 grudnia 2012 o 9:03
I'm a know it all jerk when pointing out it's irrational to act like your assumptions are facts XD
It's irrational to act like you know why anyone's "screwing" with a total stranger to you :P I could say the same thing about your irrationality "I can see why they're screwing with you, durr durr". Now quit crapping in my thread about your nerd rage over valve.

"Me, i try to keep a open mind about things. I know its not my way or the highway. I can compromise, and rationalize, and admit im wrong."

Except I said this thread isn't about Valve or Gabe, and you're making it your little soap box about those things. You aren't compromising, rationalizing and I doubt you'll admit you're wrong about it either. That makes you not only irrational but a hypocrite.

I was just trying to raise interest so someone will notice the thread.
And dont act like your so special your not the only one getting bombed by these asshats.

Ultimately your the one breaking forum and dicussion thread rules, not me.
Thats why the threads get deleted not because of my little soapbox special.

I hope to god they bomb your ass into high heaven you self righteous know it all jerk.

BTW IT IS DDOS, not DOS , they arent attacking servers with a operating system from the 90's.

And dont sit there and say valve cares, this is been going on for a week and we have yet to hear one person related to valve say anything except for hitting the delete button. So dont take your frustration out on me. And dont say im trying to turn this into a bitchfest about valve, because its valve that should be doing something, not their isp, not their mommas, Valve. But valve wont. And i wont say anymore than that.
