Can you guys with less than 100/200 hrs in-game quit joining expert and expert realism games?
It sucks trying to play on more advanced difficulties when half of your teammates don't know the game. I've played with people on expert who stand in the middle of a room during a horde, who don't know that witches instantly kill, who have friendly fire problems, who take pills right before they heal, who heal up at green/yellow health when someone else in the team is b&w, who bile tanks and then shoot at them/set them on fire. And in realism with people who don't know how to communicate, who don't know how to stick together, who try to crown witches, who run off and get pounced instantly and then the team is down one character for the rest of the chapter.

If you're new at the game, play on normal. Don't play on expert until you know how to fight off SI by yourself, how to avoid getting incapped for at least half a chapter, how to communicate with other players, and how to use teamwork.

We get that you're good at Call of Duty or whatever, but this is a different game. You're not showing off by being an elite gamer who plays brilliantly in their first few hours, you're just embaressing yourself and annoying everyone around you.

You should add that even VS players should think twice before joining Expert matches, I saw hardcore VS nerds with more than 1000 hours of experience getting absolutely destroyed in the easiest Expert situations. But yeah I agree, sadly it'll always be the same with public random matchmaking, noobs are more likely to join your game than pros.

Forget about playing this game on realism expert during the day time. Full of little kids(Who shouldn't be playing this mature game) or ♥♥♥♥ing noobs.

I could play expert fine from 100 hours.

I read that slightly wrong.

Good grammar though.

I think it comes down to skill on campaign as well. I cleared all Expert before Mutations came out. And BEFORE I hit the 100 hour mark. And being open to positive criticism is a big thing too. That way you are at least trying to improve yourself. Something VERY rare in the L4D 2 community.

You think it takes 100 or even 200 hours to be competent at Expert difficulty? Now that's funny.

Even if you were playing constantly for 100 hours- no sitting in main menu/being idle- that would be enough time to complete each map only about 4 times. You can't possibly learn the basics of the maps in 100 hours, you can't possibly know the layout in 200.

Seriously, you guys are the type of people this post is about. Quit playing on expert until you at least know the maps, even if you think you're hot ♥♥♥♥ at all the strategies of the game.

I have seen more griefers than noobs playing on expert. 100% friendly fire damage = troll's paradise. Public expert games always end up as a grief fest filled with ragequits and team killing. Unfortunately, this problem cannot be fully solved in any way. People always ragequit instead of kicking tkrs and most "dedicated" griefers work in duos that are unkickable. Mass blocking doesn't help very much because there is never a shortage of new asshats. Playing pub games on expert is really bad idea, OP with his 9001 hours of playtime should know this better than me.

TL;DR version: if you want to play with random strangers then brace yourself for some truly Dantean scenes, complaining on forums will change nothing

Make the game Friends-Only. Or play Solo. L4D2 has a cancerous community, you can't expect people to not troll for insecure attention. Either ways, hours don't mean crap at all. Mainstream gaming hipsters these days.

I absolutely love your opinion on this subject. I agree with you, people who don't know how to play expert should really not join it. I learned every map layout, learned how to kill SI, learned to not friendly fire, etc, before I played expert and it really helps you get better.

I've played 266 hours, not that it matters. I play with friends who have less than 100 hours on Expert and they're perfectly fine, it's not a difficult game to pick up in non-comp modes. I agree that people shouldn't jump straight into harder difficulties without experience, but having an arbitrary amount of time played as a prerequisite is stupid. Besides, playing on lower difficulties encourages bad practices, you have to step into Expert at some point.

Who gives a ♥♥♥♥. You're going into a co-op pub match and want / expect everyone to know maps inside out, even though it's still pretty easy to play a new map blind? Inexperienced players should be the least of your worries when you get griefers popping in who think it's hilarious to waste their time joining pub games TK'ing everyone.

100 % agree with this part. I KNEW from the community that trying a Expert Public Game is a mistake. So I stayed away from it and completed Expert in Friends Only games. And Single Player as well.
