Plot Holes?
I don't really know if these are plot holes but... here they are anyways:

1. When you are down with a melee weapon, you get a pistol. Where did you get the pistol from anyways?

2. Also on top of that, if you had pockets, couldn't you hold a pistol while carrying the bat and gun on your back? Wouldn't that make more sense?

3. Whittaker wants Coke at the mart down the street. Why wouldn't you get him water? Wouldn't that make him last longer then de-hydrating yourself?

Oh and also this is a plot hole I guess from Death Toll:

When you get to the church, you hear a guy saying he wont let you in which turns out to be a recorded message that rings a bell. But the bell is not ringing on top of the church. How do they not know that there is no bell ringing on the top of the church? Also, how the hell did he rig this message?

Tell me what you think.

Did they remove the guy from the church in Death Toll? In the original L4D, there was actually a guy behind the door, who does ring a bell but turns into a special infected at the end of the battle. One more reason for me to consider L4D2 an awful sequel, I suppose.

No the game still spawns the SI when you open the door.
Anyway 1 and 2 are just game logic, a lot of games do dumb little things like that. 3 Man wants his Cola, he presumably has water up there but not his favorite beverage.

ok thanks man

To point three, I guess he wants cola, because he likes it more than water ;) And for your question, I think Bikes say sthe right thing. There are always some small things in games which don't fit together

The pistols for game balance. If you had a melee weapon on the ground, you would be basically invincible. And It makes it so you have less inventory slots to manage. You do have magnums when on the ground though....

And utterly useless to assist other teammates. So it'd still be balanced. Maybe aside from the fact you'd be able to drain half of a Tank's health before it can crush you to death.

Hold on.. I found someting else totally wrong with this game. It has zombies! Zombies don't exist! Stupid game.

Things are designed for a reason...

They're just inconsistencies that simply come down to gameplay balance. Why do they take long-winded routes, risking their lives, when they could just climb over a 2 foot fence to get where they need to be? Because video games.

The concept of "infected" is not only plausible in real life, but it makes sense in the L4D world and is an integral component of it.

By the way, Whitaker says he has "ample provisions", so I think you can assume that includes water.

While I could see commons existing (Albeit not surviving for as long as they do in the game) the SI would never happen, the body can't mutate to that extreme (Especially consistently)
