HALP! HALP! HALP! HALP! Still something to prove achievement is BUGGED

I had successfully survived Dead Center from start to finish on Expert and it didnt register AT ALL as completed. There was no achievement pop-up, text or anything. I wasn't using cheats or mutations. There is almost no point in playing on expert if i cannot get this achievement. WAT DO?

You have to complete all the left4dead 2 campaigns on expert before you get the acheivement.

Meaning all the original campaigns in l4d2 on expert. So dead center, the parish, swamp fever, dark carnvial, hard rain all these have to be beaten on expert to get the achivement. Just beating one wont give you the achivement. All 5 have to be beaten on expert to get the achivement.

But there is no updated progress on achievement page. It still states that i have 0 of 5 completed campaigns on expert. Also i played from start to finish without any quitting or using the "take a break" function.

Restart steam sometimes it takes awhile to show you beat one. Just wait for a few hrs or next day it will show up.

Mine did the same thing with it not showing up but after awhile it did show up so all i can say is to keep checking it.

Still something to prove requires to complete em all in a row. If you die in finale, only the surviving players will get progress on the achievement.

Okay. Here is a checklist for what you need to do to make sure it works.

- Have the campaign started from a lobby. Joining in the midst of a game does not work.

- Make sure the lobby's difficulty is set to Expert already. Starting the game on a lower difficulty and then changing to advanced will render the achivement invalid.

- You do not go Idle. At all. (Not sure if this effects it, but it could be a cause.)

- You survive the whole campaign. Dying on the Finale won't get you any progress. You can die between levels, but the finale is where you MUST survive.

- Steam is online/offline the whole time. A connection drop will change the achivement's progress. So if doing it solo, best to stay offline on steam for the achivement.

If any of these specifications is not met, you won't get the progress.

play the game more. you'll find that expert is pathetically easy and you'll be able to breeze through any campaign within 40 minutes. then focus on earning the harder achievements.

just play in singleplayer, try to incap the bots during gauntlet crescendos to buy you some time and use autoshotguns whenever possible. keep moving as it prevents the SI to spawn and/or catch up. save throwables for random hordes or crescendos, use bots as a meatshield, wait out hordes in closets... so many tactics that make expert a breeze.

Okay, i started steam client about 1.5h ago, checked up achievements in the games library and it still showed 0/5 completed campaigns. I was really pissed off, started Dark Carnival with last man on earth as mutation. Due to my own idiocy i didnt realise that it was on expert until Tank in second map almost incapped me with one hit. After that i was all like "let's just get on with this ♥♥♥♥" and completed whole campaign.

Moments later my stupid brain just remembered that there is achievements section in game menu...

...
...
And there it states that i have completed both Dead Center AND Dark Carnival on expert. Color me shocked and confuzzled, idk anything anymore. Game menu and library show completly different things, ACHIEVEMENTS ARE WORKING WITH MUTATIONS? WTFITS???

Achievements as well as Steam stats and other tracking features are erratic and bugged, and overall don't mean anything. All mutations count toward achievements, including custom mutations. Back when I went for this achievement I completed all campaigns in Last Man On Earth except Hard Rain, which I completed in Gib Fest. I'd strongly recommend Gib Fest for Hard Rain and Swamp Fever 'cause you're gonna suffer with the finales. Kiting two Tanks at once with heat-seeking rock throws is a nightmare, and Tanks don't stay alight on Hard Rain, not to mention the weather not letting you see SIs in the distance. The Parish is pathetically easy on any difficulty or any game mode, really.
