Never feel safe in L4D2? D:
I'm mainly a console gamer and Source games are pretty much the only thing my college laptop does well due to integrated graphics. I have l4d 1 and 2 and i can play em on pretty much high settings with a low 800x600 resolution (which doesn't look bad at all o.O)... anyway, i didn't play them too much but i notice i feel a lot less safe in L4D2; why do the infected constantly spawn? You can't get a break. Was that part of Valve's philosophy? And am I doing it right when the horde comes if my group looks like it's straight out of Dynasty Warriors... moving around a lot, melee weapons (the axe is too much fun) and the shotgun?

I can't say anything to if your group looks like from Dynasty Warriors, because of I just play offline, but I also played Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 ( 1 for X-Box, too) and I think both games have there ,,safe time" when you are on a street for example and the infected don't notice you and maybe just one special infected is there. I think that the special infected are spawning at a higher rate, because there are eight instead of just five now.

You're doing it right during a horde if you don't get hit much and don't friendly fire, there's no "right" or "wrong" way to handle a horde, as long as you survive it without needing a throwable I'd say you're doing good. And yep it's normal that the infected spawn constantly; Valve's philosophy for L4D2 was "MOAR!11!1" which also means more infected.

You're wrong, now maybe you're talking about mutations or survival or something but in vanilla campaigns, versus and realism, only 4 specials can spawn at once, plus the Witch and/or Tank. This is also the case in L4D1, short of survival of course.

It could also be an impression due to the fact there are less Smokers and more "aggressive" specials who need to get in your face to attack.

I think it's that, because most special infected which attack me are the one who need close contact to you.
