Why cant Left 4 dead survivors swim???
I dont understand. Gordon Freeman could swim, Garys mod characters could swim. So why cant the Left 4 dead survivors swim? I dont know if theres a modded server that allows the survivors to swim? But i think it would make Left 4 dead 2 more enjoyable.

Tell me what you think?? :)

There's no need for them to swim... If they could, playing versus would be a lot harder because you wouldn't be able to jockey someone or charge someone into water for the incap/insta-kill. None of the levels require you to swim either.

Hmmmm That is a good reason...But maybe it could be only for Campaign or single player???

The maps are designed with the water being a limit in mind, there's no way to properly play the current maps without swimming without editing them. Some custom maps have small areas in which you can swim.

Yeah that would be alright I guess be alright just for the fun of it.

Technically, you can still walk in deep end of the water. The maps just have a hurt trigger in them to cause instant death because once you fall in, you can't get out.

No, swimming would be an absolutely pointless addition to the game.

Because Survivors have it too easy already. There are already places you can jump to, or objects you can jump on that completely break the game and make no sense in the world of physics. We need more things to make it more difficult for survivors, not easier. IMO, contact with water should already destroy First Aid Kits, Pipe Bombs, Molotovs, and disable your guns. In real life, you wouldn't be able to do much with wet bandages or pistols.

Why do you think it will be more enjoyable?

Would be an interesting trade off for the first level of swamp fever to skip the event at the cost of having nothing work for the rest of the level.

But then it sort of defeats the purpose of holding out on a small area.

Like if the water was poisionous because of toxic waste or something and they slowly died (but like 20 health per 0.1 second) then that would make sense. Although I like the dude's idea of wet first aid kits.

Besides, only in a few levels do you ever have to get your feet wet (disregarding sewers). Maybe even for the insta incap thing for the jockey/charger it would make sense because they drown you? And then of course zombies have some messed up minds and they forgot how to swim (or you're a weak little jockey and can't stretch for the life of you.)

In the near future humanity has lost the ability to swim. This causes a weakness in are DNA allowing for this disease that we once where immune to once again wreak havoc on mankind. This of course is the same disease that turns everyone into zombies…

Love how OP can take the time to make a new thread, but can't come up with one reason why it would be more enjoyable to add swimming.

because there's zombie sharks.
