Left 4 Dead 2 Smoker Pull Bug?
When a smoker pulls someone next to me and I shove them right away, it doesn't work. I have to wait for my second shove. I'm not sure if this is for everyone, but it's starting to bug me. I believe it's a "time" issue and after a few seconds then I'm allowed to shove the pulled survive. I can't just shove them right off the bat because nothing will happen. What should I do, should I report this as a bug? I'm not sure if this happens to everyone or not.

that means you have been melee too takes a few seconds to "recharge" the melee attack.

No. You've got it all wrong :P. I believe it takes three melee shoves then it takes a recharge. When the smoker pulls someone next to be and I instantly shove them, nothing happens. Then for my second shove it will work even if the survivor isn't grasped by the smoker.

ohhh! thats what your talking bad XD i thought it was the recharge but yeah i have the same problem for the jockeys, ill be next to a guy with one on him and i have to melee it like 2 or 3 times and keep in mind these are complete solid hits too haha :P

This problem only happens with smokers for me. I might report this as a bug because it's very annoying.

yeah defs do difficulty a factor as well? i think if you were expert and you melled the guy smoked then it might take another hit to break the smokers tongue...maybe that is the case too...but do report it just to be on the safe side.

I don't know where to report the bugs :/ I'm trying to find the place right now.

Nope i dont think, its a prob of difficulty, or recharging.. even in normal. u could shove a jockey or what ever almost the on hit,, (now u have almost beat the surviver do death xD)

I don't play campaign, I play versus. When a survivor is right next to me and a smoker pulls that person, I can't shove them right away (NOT the recharge). My second shove works, but my first one never registers, but for some reason I hear the smack sound but nothing happens when I shove him.

Heisenberg..i read up on this problem and supposdly Valve recognises it as a problem which they blame on the players ♥♥♥♥♥♥ playing, example of their "intellegience" on the subject XD

Wat. How is it the players fault?

I think when a special starts pinning a survivor, it has a short period where survivors are locked into the animation and you can't rescue them. The first shove will produce a "You Saved X" popup, but it won't free them. The second shove usually frees them, resulting a double "You Saved X" popup. But I've had up to three, maybe four of these popups when dealing with hunters (must have a really long unrescuablility window), which would mean I shoved a survivor but didn't free them 2-3 times in a row.

So it's actually better to wait until a smokers tongue latches on 100%, or until a hunter hits the ground with a survivor, before you try saving them. It's counter-intuitive, but it saves you the melee fatigue.

its built into the game that way, didnt used to be like that but devs decided to make it a bit harder so you at least take some dmg and givew a sense of panic. probably could find this somewhere in update notes
