No way, new SI is not exactly needed at all. They should just improve on the ones already in

There doesn't need a L4D3 with the mods and the balanced gameplay. They're not gonna make new maps when the community is doing that already. They're not gonna add new survivors when that doesn't alter gameplay, and when the community's already doing that. They're not gonna add more infected, because that would upset the balance of the game. They're not gonna add new guns because it, again, will upset the balance of the game. There is only one gun that they added for fun without any real purpose, and that is the Grenade launcher, which doesn't upset the balance. They don't need anything new because THE COMMUNITY IS ALREADY DOING IT ALL!

TL;DR this is a ragepost. The point is that L4D3 is not going to be made, nor does it need to be.

Who ever said there was GOING to be a L4D3?
We have workshop for maps, skins, weapons, ect. and valve is working on a Enhanced Mutation system that allows the community to create custom mutations. We don't need a L4D3

Here's the hypothetical events that could lead to a possible third installment in the Left 4 Dead series:

• New, greatly enhanced Source engine that works better than previous engines valve has used.
  
• Half Life 3 will be done on this new engine, following with the tradition of being the first on every new engine they use. Game of the Year Nominee at the least.
  
• New title that experiments with the possibilities of the engine, this one will likely be nominated for game of the year as well
  
• Valve will have to calm rumors that there will NOT be a Team Fortress 3, but perhaps more story-heavy content than before may be added
  
• Left 4 Dead 3 will be announced, delayed at least 3 times, will go through at least 2 to three different betas changing the style of the survivors, new features to the series will be revealed close to release date
  
• Cover art leaked a month early, no comment by valve
  
• Left 4 Dead 3 is released with Workshop support right off the bat, many bug fixes in the first couple of weeks, game grabs a game of the year nomination.
  
• Gabe Newell speaks up again about his detest for THIS generation of consoles (PS4 Wii U, etc.)
  
• L4D3 Fanart shows up within a month pairing characters people think would be together. Most of it is sub-par, at least. People don't hate any of the characters this time (I'm looking at you, Rochelle >:C)

Call it unrealistic if you want, but I'm at least certain about Half Life 3 being their first number 3 and being the first on their next engine.

We all know Valve cant count to 3, and I think that an upgrade to the Workshop and resorces for mod developers might be just as good. For example, people could put new SI in an add-on campaign, and we wouldnt have to buy another game, and it would be optional and only in particular add-ons. Just saying. ;)

If VALVe rolls out a few more updates for L4D2,then ok.But until then,no L4D3.I would prefer them to make TF3 more than L4D3

I imagine TF2's just going to be added on and added on until nobody buys anything from the mann co store. They might make a TF3 then, but don't count on it. All the TF2 classes are beloved characters and many would hate to see them get replaced or changed. So much has been added to TF2; that experience would be hard to live up to in another game.

I think even a Portal 3 is more likely. I'd rather a new Left 4 Dead 3, but it's all up to what valve decides to do.

HL3 before anything else, though. We can all hopefully agree that Half Life will be the first valve series to hit 3 before any other franchise.
