Some versus tips for newbies
I seriously got angry at the newbies that join versus and scavenge without knowing anything of the game these days, so I decided to give some tips to the new players.
SURVIVORS:
1.If you just got the game, PLEASE play campaign games till' you beat them all at advanced difficulty to get the grip of the game.Don't start playing versus in the first 5 hours of your gaming time.
2.If you see that your team is losing, don't join the enemy team.If you do it, they will very likely kick you.
3.Don't kill other teammates just because you don't like them or they suck.
4.Always, ALWAYS look at your back if you hear a survivor say Smoker,Charger...etc.OR if they scream or just don't follow the team.
5.Share medkits, pills and adrenaline.Your other teammates might need it more than you.Remember, if someone is below 40 health points, their movement speed will be slowed down.
6.If someone gets boomed, protect them.Even if they are just common zombies, they can be a problem in hordes. Also don't kill boomers that are near you or your teammates.Shove them away, run away and kill them from afar.
7.Watch some tricks and trips videos.Seriously, before I got the game, I was watching videos about gameplay all day.Watch HS Top videos. Some tricks might be hard, but the gas can throwing and ladder tricks are very easy to learn and are effective.
8.Tanks:at most times when the survivors encounter a Tank, they panic.Don't do it!
It is slow as ♥♥♥♥ and it doesn't get faster when on fire (Like in Left 4 Dead)
Just shoot the tank together and you will finish it off in like 15 seconds.
9.Don't chase off special infected who used their special abilities. The cooldown of the special abilities might run off, and they catch you and your teammates will have to go back to save your ♥♥♥.
10.If your teammate is incapped, and a horde of zombies are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ him/her, don't try to help him up, because it gets interrupted everytime a zombie hits the incapped survivor.
SPECIAL INFECTED:
1.Never, NEVER attack alone, even if you are a charger, you get killed very fast if the survivors work together.Attack in groups like:if a jockey jumps on a survivor from the group, try to distract the other survivors. If a smoker drags a member of the survivors, try and spit/puke on them if you are a spitter/boomer.The smoker's special attack is very weak, but a little help can increase the damage that is dealt to the survivor.
2.As a hunter, try and punce the survivors from afar (a building or anything that is high in the iar.) this will instantly damage them for 1-25 points.Even if you get killed shortly after you land on the survivor, that 25 damage is still very good.
3.As for chargers, death charges are extremely effective. For example, on No Mercy Rooftop Scavenge, the best thing to do is charge someone off the freaking hospital. And, if another survivor is in the way when you are charging and already holding a survivor in your hands, you will knock them away. This can be used to kill multiple survivors at once.
4.As a Jockey, always try to grab a survivor when they are passing hard (or impossible) to return places.Leading survivors onto edges is another good tactic. They get incapped, unable to attack or do anything, and your special ability cooldown will not be as long as normally incapping someone, so you can basically always jump on the survivor that is trying to help another up.
5.As a Smoker, you should always be on the high grounds, because it is harder to kill a smoker that you don't even see.Like the jockey, try to drag survivors to ledges. On Scavenge, don't grab survivors that are holding gas cans and are facing you. When they drop it, the can gets in the way of the smoker's tongue.
6.As a Tank, always look at the scoreboard because you can see if the survivors have a molotov.Molotov's don't speed you up like in the previous game, but they still damage you over time. You are very slow so go for the survivors that are below 40 health.Ask your team to work with you. When your teammate catches a survivor, don't attack THAT survivor.Attack the rest of the team, so they cannot help the catched survivor.USE YOUR ROCK THROW ABILITY!It helps bringing the survivor's health down.If you are in a car park, hit those dammn cars! They instantly incap the survivors most of the time, so they are very effective.
7.Boomers and Spitters, as I stated it in the first part of the Special Infected tips, aid your team.Don't start running into the survivors, because you have very low health.Only kamikaze as a boomer if you can surely boom on 3-4 survivors.
8.Well, we can't play as the Witch, so the only two tips I can give to you are that try to drag survivors close to them (as smoker and jockey). And to hide behind her. When they try to shoot you, they might shoot the Witch, which makes her very angry.

Well, that's it, I can't think of anything else just yet, I wrote this in a hurry so sorry for the poor grammar and the errors.

Haha, you are literally going to reach 0 people posting that block of text/rant here. Anyone who wants to improve their versus game through reading will surely have read the Versus guide available through Steam. The people you are mad at are the people that simply refuse to use outside sources because they believe they should learn through experience alone, or they are not aware that Google exists.

For one you said playing not surviving. Even with surviving only having completed three you havent even played every map once yet. Youve probably never even attempted a difficulty above normal. You probably havent even seen every major aspect of the game. Only playing three campaigns you could jump into versus not even knowing what a witch or a car alarm is or even have seen and used every weapon. Even if they played the same map 3 times theyd still hardly know it well enough to be worth anything in versus.

Thinking that playing three campaigns is enough before playing versus is so funny that its horribly sad.

Tell you what, when you get over 500 (actual in game hours) instead of the 201 you have or better yet 1000 come back with a list and maybe someone will take you seriously. Then again maybe not.

Well, the amount of in game hours that are shown are incorrect.I uninstalled and reinstalled this game a lot of times, because I got a new comp, and before that I had lot of bugs that the steam cache verify thingie just couldn't be able to fix.It seems that everytime I reinstall the game, I lose the hours that I played.

That's funny, I just replaced my computer after 6 months of being down and after reinstalling on my new one, it still showed my hours from when I stopped. Hmmm..............

I dunno what causes it, it shows 201 for you and 311 for me.I know it's not 500 hours or more, I just wanted to give out some basic tips for the new players, sorry if my stupidity annoyed you,
if you want me to delete the discussion then just reply.

I'd try finding some friends to play as a team in Verses, you could start by playing and completeing all stock campains on Expert and Expert Realism

I've told all of my friends that if I ever clock 1000 hours on any game, they need to book me an appointment at Dignitas.

I'd warn about taking advice from someone that can't spell "versus", "completing", and "campaigns" correctly.

What flyinghitcher said is on point.
