New to Left 4 Dead 2 on Mac!
I play left 4 dead 2 on xbox 360 everyday and I love it, and yesterday I saw that you could play as so much more on Steam so I had to get it lol. So I bought the game yesterday still downloading at 68% and bought the xbox 360 wired controller to use that instead using keyboard and mouse. I am still trying to figure out how to use the Joystick Mapper so confusing but I won't give up! Just wondering once everything is completed if anyone would play with me? or help me out with this since I am new to using steam =]

Have you already tried big picture mode in the upper right corner? Might help for a more console-like interface ;-) (also Xbox 360 player acclimatizing to steam)

Mapping your controller should be easier, too. I could even use my good old SNES controller in that mode :-D

These games are better played using Mouse and Keyboard, Controllers are fail.

Hmmm.. I am going to have to try both of them out to see which I like better! I don't mind trying something new just going to have to see which one will be easier for me!

Mouse for aiming, agree. WASD for walking, meh

Well if you played on Xbox your entire life, they will be best for u but Keyboard+mouse is more comfortable and gives u more to improve and be better at such games.

Its not sports game you know and you use mouse for turning and directions. Guess someone never played PC games using Keyboard MOuse.

While this is true, changing your walk speed isn't really needed in this game since going full speed is ideal, plus you can use shift to walk if you really need to.
But yeah use KB/M it's superior for fps (Console games normally have aim assist to compensate, I don't think playing the pc version of L4d2 will give you any assist)
As long as you're reasonably good at typing I don't think it would take that long to learn.

Yeah I think that is going to be my problem is the walking for the keyboard i think a controller would be easier!

Once you get used to keeping your hand around wasd it's not really that hard.

PC gaming isn't new for me. A controller in general just feels better.
