the other day i was playing L4D2 and this random person joined and started team killing for no reason

Cool story, but seriously you can block communication so you'll never end up in another game with that troll account. However, trolls likely have more than one account, so you'll probably be in another game with them and never know it.

And exactly why did you and your teamates not make proper use of the kick system? I thought I would ask, since you did not mention it.

That's why there's a kick feature.

Hopefully friendly fire will be optional in the servers in L4D3. It gets so annoying when people shoot you, and when you accidentally wind up shooting your teammate instead of the zombie near them.
